as spiritual beings, we navigate the complexities of our existence, while trying to bring ourselves a sense of happiness by developing lasting relationships, building a career, making enough money to support the lifestyle we want, and so on.
yet often times, there still seems to be something missing. some part of our whole experience that leaves us feeling empty, alone, scared, or numb.
maybe it's an inability to truly know how we feel or a block inside of us from expressing ourselves. maybe it's past wounds from trauma and oppressive systems or relationships. maybe it's some story the world or someone in our lives once told, that is still telling us 'who we should be'.
the patterns and processes we find ourselves in often repeat when outside of our awareness. unconsciously, they emerge and our thoughts, behaviors, and choices follow suit.
instead of living, life feels it's 'happening to us'.
as the Buddha said, "life is suffering". while unique in our subjective experiences, the feelings of pain and sorrow, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, and fear and loneliness seem to be promised in life.
while we all jump towards the 'quick fix' or instant gratification to rid ourselves of these unwanted feelings, the journey through them is where healing lies.
the question is no longer how to end one's suffering, but how does one enter into the suffering, in order to heal.
by tending to these painful parts inside of ourselves and in our lives, we are given the opportunity to reclaim their power. we can develop awareness of how to truly take care of ourselves and set systems up in our lives to support ourselves for our lifetime.
my goal in therapy is to help you connect with your true self; rewriting limiting thoughts & beliefs, gaining new self-awareness, nurturing self-compassion, developing boundaries, managing difficult emotions & healing from past trauma.
often times together we can do more than we can alone.

i didn't know i wanted to be a therapist for most of my life.
before thoughts of becoming a therapist, i studied poetry and short stories. i think my love for writing stems from a place within me drawn towards the depths of the human experience and my wanting to inhabit that space with others. years later, i studied at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where I received my M.A. in Integral Counseling Psychology.
i'm privileged and grateful to have the meaningful opportunity of being a therapist.
